PriMal UprIsing

I just saw "The Golden Compass," what a great movie it was with an amazing script (based on the novel "Northern Lights" by Phillip Pullman) and cast! I wont go into details so here's the link to the site of the movie: http://www.goldencompassmovie.com/

It's amazing how before the movie even came out already the religious establishment is very concerned that this movie will brainwash kids into believing that their idea of God does not exist, as though this vast universe can be defined as their ultimate truth! Funny thing is this has nothing to do with the degrading of Christianity or any of the monotheistic religions, but a repression of humanities own primal nature/life force which is represented in the characters daemons! Notice they are called daemons something the church has convinced through superstition that is evil and must be cut out of our lives. Hence in the movie you see this happening as the established order of law creates this machine to cut/circumsize us from our daemons (animal power) to keep them in check from the perils of disrupting their perfect society they have been trying to create for centuries. Ok, this establishment wants to create this perfect society, then who is in real contradiction to the natural order of things, which by the way would be the way God made it. There is a saying "all religions are against God," because they are against what is natural in the species. Truth is truth, we can live in lies and superstition and never question the old program put here to control us, or we can follow our own daemons that are given to us by the very fabric of the universe to hear the voice of yes even God! So why so much hysteria in the religous order of this world over this movie & novel? Why because only lies need to be defended, and truth is self evident. I did the daemon test, and found out that my daemon is a snow leopard.. what a great way to enpower oneself to focus on the strengths and not weakness of the individual, that way his strengths will be able to lift his weaknesses up into more strength. Can't wait for Golden Compass 2!

Ambivilant's video for "R U OK?"

I just came across this really dope video for Ambivalent out of NYC, who are now on Richie Hawtin's label Minus Recordings out of Berlin. Dark and minimal with the perfect mood that this track takes can only be done by the Turkish master of underground cinema Ali Demirel. Ali is responsible for alot of Richie Hawtin's music videos especially the Plastikman series that came out on MTV Europe. He is also well know as a video artist with various installations at several museums throughout Turkey and Europe, not too mention a dope vj at events. So ask yourself the question "Are U Ok," and you may find yourself inside one of those glasses of water slithering around looking for the dancefloor.. You can also download the high quality version of the video from Minus Recordings! Here's another link to see a collection of his works!

Bobby That Little Boy (my first record i produced back in 88)

Well here it is my first record i ever produced back in 1988 under the name dj Boom (contrary to what this link says I am the original dj Boom from Miami not George Acosta, i was selling records to George back in 91 when he was starting up the Rave Doctors down in Miami, and he definitely did not use the name Boom at that time)! I happened to find this stashed in my old room at my Mom's down in Miami with a slew of other oldie Miami Bass, and freestyle traxs..hmm maybe i might start posting up these oldies from time to time on my blog, so you guys can download and jam to the ole electro 80s sound. I remember making this record on an old sp1200 sampling drum machine back then which was the workhorse for mostly all of the Miami Bass producers back then. So the artists are 3 ladies by the name of TNT (created more for their sex appeal than talent), have no clue what happened to them, niether do I have a clue what happened to PB Floyd the producer of the 12". All i know is he was producing a couple of booty tracks on this old label out of Beverly Hills or Decatur, Georgia called Force Groove Records. I never got paid for this or any of the other projects i did like this other track called "Polka Dot Bikini," which was a bass version of the old classic by Brian Hyland. This record is a reply record to the classic Miami Bass hit "Sally That Girl" by the Gucci Crew. The beats are cool, but I never dug the female rappers on here since they were pretty much created in the studio. Anyways here's the full 12" for a limited time only for you..

If the link expires when you get to read this, I'll leave the Dub on my podcast for those that missed it..

Lifer Vision coming soon!

So yea the site is almost up and ready to sell our music videos for Lifer Artists. The plan is to get a nice underground music video portal for dvjs to purchase from. Kind of like a Beatport but for underground music videos, the ones that you dont see on MTV or any commercial chesse club. So yea we are looking for labels, vjs, producers, and djs that would like to get involved in some way either by helping some of the artists we know to make simple low budget videos for their tracks and/or to post up their videos on our site to sell!
go to our You Tube link for now to see some previews of the music videos from our artists:
Lifer Vision You Tube!

Site should be up in a week or 2, heres the link:

Here's the video preview I did for my latest track "Long Nights" on Lifer Visions::

Ghostland Observatory!

I opened up last night at Garage Bar (St Petersburg, Fl./USA) for this rocking band from Austin, Texas called Ghostland Observatory. These guys just played recently over at Fabric in London through the help of Adam Freeland and also played at Coachella last year! Amazing performance from frontman Aaron Behrens with keyboardist Thomas Turner, playing some wicked analog synths! It was like a cross between Daft Punk, Digitalism, David Bowie, and Mick Jagger!! Very unique style, the energy had the place groovin!! You can go to their site Trashymoped Recordings to purchase their music, and also vinyl!!

Go to their myspace page for dates and more info on them: Ghostland Observatory myspace page

Here's one of my favorite cuts off of their latest album..

Javier Dubrocq Art & Dance celebration

So tomorrow ill be providing the music selections for this amazing artist & dancer who hails out of Cuba!! Gotta represent my peeps and culture on this one, should be a fun time with also live flamenco dancers and musicians later in the night! Dope spot we are setting up the art gallery in, which is an old movie theater that has been vacated to be turned into condos in like around a year. Well before the whole state becomes just one big condo penitentiary, were gonna utilize this space and possibly continue to do monthly art & dance partys here. Ill throwing down a very eclectic set of tunes tomorrow during the day, and rumour has it a very famous dancer from the NYC Ballet will be hanging around.. Here's a bio on Javier and his surreal art..

Graduated from the National School of Ballet in Havana, Cuba and started touring around the world as a classical ballet dancer. In 1992, Mr. Dubrocq decided to defect after a presentation in Mexico City and was hired by the “Ballet of Monterrey” as a principal dancer, where he suffered an ankle injury that put him in to obligatory rest for three weeks. It is in this period when he started to paint and draw as a pastime but surprisingly even for him, started selling his work almost immediately to important collectors and showing in renowned galleries, first in Mexico and then in the U.S., where he presently lives.

slowly but surely..

With the year almost to an end, things are moving a lil slowly but surely in the right direction. Gonna have a new studio up in December here, start up some new productions with some local friends also for our Lifer Artists Compilation. Also we are gonna start delving into the world of the dvdjs, getting a pair in a week to start implementing videos into the sets, with special custom made videos for some of the tracks im playing out at the moment. So yea things looking a lil more of the production side for the next couple of months, plus a trip out to Costa Rica to document some of the native sounds..think i may start delving into the world of sound archaeology, describing the world's myths through ancient & new sound..
